Frederick Manuel Ortiz

 Frederick Manuel Ortiz, 82, of Marion, passed away Thursday, November 21, 2024, at Mission Memorial Hospital in Asheville.

 Fred was born on October 2, 1942, in Longmont, Colorado, to the late Rose Trujillo and Guadalupe Ortiz. He was married to the late Suzanne Ortiz, his wife of 48 years. Fred was very strong willed and very active throughout his life. He was very fond of the outdoors and enjoyed traveling. He always looked forward to seeing and visiting new places. Fred enjoyed football and was an avid fan of the Denver Broncos. Most of all, Fred was a dedicated and devoted husband who loved his family. He will be greatly missed. 

 In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by three sons, Freddie Ortiz, Jr., Miguel Ortiz, and Rupert Ortiz; and his twin brother, Guadalupe Ortiz, Jr.

 He is survived by two children, Farrah Adkins (Jesse Hensley) and Angela Ortiz; four sisters, Mary, Ellen, Hope, and Esther; a brother, Manuel; a brother in law, Johnny; and three grandchildren, Ahrayah, Junior, and Addison Adkins. 

 A memorial service will be held at a later date.

 In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to assist with funeral expenses.
