Frank Tim Dobson

Frank Tim Dobson, age 84, passed away on Saturday September 2, 2017 at Rosehill Retirement Community with his loving family by his side. A native of McDowell County, Tim was born to the late Joseph Alexander Dobson, and Virginia Ladosky Lonon on April 9, 1933.

Tim graduated from Nebo High School and worked for the North Carolina Department of Transportation, from which he retired after thirty five years of service. After his retirement, he became a surveyor. Tim was an avid golfer and a longtime member of Quaker Meadows Golf Club in Morganton.

Tim was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Betty Evans Dobson; A son, Joey Tim Dobson; & Three brothers & two sisters.

He is survived by three children, Sherry Hollifield (Bobby), Frankie Craig (Beary), & Sammy Dobson; Two brothers, Bob Dobson (Pat) & Don Dobson (Linda); Eleven Grandchildren, April (Brian), Jason, Kellie (Will), Lacey (Anthony), Jasmine (Danny), Justin (Brooke), Megan, Tim (Hannah), Haley, Matthew & Katie; Six Great Grandchildren, Austin, Averie, Julian, Evan, Kylie & Jaeden.

A funeral service to celebrate the life of Mr. Dobson will be held on Tuesday September 5, 2017 at 3:00 at Nebo First Baptist Church with Rev. Doug Worley officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 PM, one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow in the service in the church cemetery.
