Frances Barbara Pittman Parker, 77, of Old Fort, departed to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 6, 2024 at CarePartners Hospice Solace Center.
She was born in Buncombe County on December 16, 1946 to the late Floyd Lee Pittman and Josie Wheeler Pittman.
Frances loved her family, and she especially adored her grandchildren. She loved the Lord the most, and she was a member of Old Fort Wesleyan Church for 56 years. It did her heart good to cook for others and take care of her family and friends in any way she could. She was always a hard worker at anything she set out to do. Frances enjoyed working with her flowers, and she loved a good yard sale or flea market. Her memory will forever bless her family and all those that knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six siblings, Samuel Pittman, Robert Pittman, Elizabeth Pittman, Charles Pittman, Margaret Elliott, and Cecil Pittman.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Howard Parker; two children, Michelle Hunt (Eric) and Pastor Jeffrey Parker (Christina); five grandchildren, Matthew Hunt, Taylor McKinney (Caleb), Caleb Parker (Sierra), Mariah Hunt, and Talma Parker; one great grandchild on the way; and two sisters, Hazel Hensley and Sylvia Vess.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2024 at 12:00 noon with Pastor Donnie Massingill officiating. A private burial will follow at Bethlehem Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon.
Her heart’s desire would be for all of her family and friends to be saved and ready to meet her again in Heaven.
