Faye Duncan Queen, age 88, of Marion, North Carolina, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 12, 2018 at Autumn Care of Marion. Born in Mitchell County on June 9, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Jesse and Cora Pitman Duncan.
She is preceded in death by her husband of sixty-one years, Charles W. Queen; siblings, Clyde Duncan, Marie Brown, Ray Duncan, Geneva Walker, Fred Duncan, Claude Duncan, and Jessie Duncan.
Faye was a member of West Court Baptist Church for over sixty years. She enjoyed sewing and reading and was a babysitter for many children. She was known as a wonderful cook. Faye cherished the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Left to cherish her precious memories are one daughter, Patti Queen; two granddaughters, Brandi York and Crystal Brown; four great grandchildren, Marc Helms, Hannah Helms, Olivia Brown and Caroline Brown; one brother, Maurice Duncan and wife, Shelia; special nieces and nephews, Gary Walker, Jean Poteat, Shirli Carson and Harold Walker; and a grandson-in-law, Kent Brown.
A service to celebrate the life of Faye will be held on Friday, August 17, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at West Court Baptist Church with Rev. Richard Anderson officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the church.
