Fate Harold Biddix, 83, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at his residence. His family was by his side.
A native of Marion, he was born August 9, 1939 to the late Herbert and Laura Lowery Biddix.
Fate was a faithful member of Turkey Cove Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for many years. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army and an avid gardener. He loved his Friday night dinners and fish fry. He retired from Air Preheater and later started Fate Biddix Trucking. In his later years, Fate enjoyed sitting in the sun and spending time with friends that stopped by to chat. A loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather, Fate had many friends and never met a stranger. He will be missed by his community and all that knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary Ann Biddix; four children, Cindy Biddix (Eli), Harold Biddix (Marcell), Julie Tyree (Ray), and Karen Biddix; twelve grandchildren, Kristy (Johnny), Misty (Ethan), Camron (Courtney), Tasha (Matt), Tyler, Parker, Noah (Kayla), Haley, Samantha (Kenny), Cole (Lakan), CJ (Taylor), and Molly; fifteen great grandchildren, Lauren, Madison, Emma, Dakota, Sierra, EJ, Royceton, Ridge, Sawyer, Thomas, Van, Kenley, Skyla, Edge, and Gemma; one great great grandchild, Tony; and two siblings, Junior Biddix and Phyllis Dicks (Pastor Charles).
The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 27, 2022 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Beam Funeral Service.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 28, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Turkey Cove Baptist Church with Pastor David Edwards and Pastor Charles Dicks officiating. Burial will follow at Turkey Cove Cemetery with military honors.
