Evelyn Louise Gilliland

Evelyn Louise Gilliland, age 77, of Marion, North Carolina passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2019 at Mission Hospital-McDowell while surrounded by her family. A native of Henderson County, Evelyn was born on March 9, 1942 to the late Luther Gilliland and Ada McGaha Clark.

Evelyn was an avid animal lover. She enjoyed working in her flower gardens and being outdoors. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and will be deeply missed.

Left to cherish her memories are her husband of thirty-five years, Roger Rollins; two children, Gail Gilland (Rodney) and Crystal Creasman (Jerry); and two sisters, Katherine and Ruth. Also surviving Evelyn are four grandchildren, Shanice, Sammy, Dallas and Kyle; and seven great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 28, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at New Hope Baptist Church with Reverend Bill Pate officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow the service at Cherry Springs Memorial Park.
