Evelyn Ruth Bryant Ethridge

On the evening of Monday, October 18, 2021, Evelyn Ruth Bryant Ethridge passed away at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills. She was born on August 25, 1931 in Pikeville, Kentucky to the late Avery Bryant and Ethel York.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by a grandson, Nolan Burgin; brother, Arlen Bryant; sister, Helen Jones and nephew, Greg Jones.

Evelyn was a faithful member of Faith Missionary Baptist Church. She never met a stranger and had a great sense of humor. Having been an excellent mother and grandmother, she was very family focused and will be greatly missed.

Left to cherish her memories are her son, Jeff Ethridge (Sheila), step-children, Bobby Ethridge, Scott Ethridge, Lil Allen and Amy Stabile; nephews Alvin Jones (Carolyn), Gary Jones (Brenda) and niece, Wanda Jones. Also surviving Evelyn are two grandchildren, Nathan Allen (Maria) and Alicia Allen (Lee); six great-grandchildren, Cierra, Isabella, Kaven, Scarlette, Maia and Christian.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at Faith Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Gary Greene officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow the service at Faith Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
