Eugenia "Shannon" Woodside Stanley

Eugenia “Shannon” Woodside Stanley, 79, of Old Fort, passed away Tuesday, February 15, 2022.

Shannon was born in Statesville, North Carolina on July 10, 1942 to the late John Brite Woodside and the late Virginia Steele Woodside.  She was a member of Old Fort Wesleyan Church where she enjoyed playing the piano. Shannon retired from the N.C. Public School System following thirty years of service.  She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. 

Including her parents Shannon was preceded in death by her brother, Mickey Woodside and a daughter-in-law Regina Stanley.

Those left to cherish her family are her husband of sixty one years, Rev. Richard A. Stanley II; two sons, Richard A. Stanley III and Wesley C. Stanley (Sonya); one brother, Mark Woodside (Pat); two sisters, Dale Russell (Jim) and Kay Stevens (Scott); sister-in-law, Jan Woodside and five grandchildren, R.J. Stanley, Nate Stanley, Amber Stanley, Tiffany Bowers and Danielle Carroll.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 19, 2022 at Old Fort Wesleyan Church with the Rev. Donnie Massingill officiating. Interment will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery in Old Fort.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers the family would like donations to be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills at 374 Hudlow Road, Forest City, North Carolina 28043.
