Eugene Lacey Crisp

November 6, 1929 — December 4, 2017

 

Eugene Lacey Crisp, age 88, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on the night of Monday, December 4, 2017 at Memorial Campus of Mission Hospital in Asheville.  A native of Clay County, North Carolina, born November 6, 1929, he was the son of the late Lee Berry and Artie Mason Crisp. 

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Neva Baxter; and one brother, Richard Crisp.

 

Mr. Crisp enjoyed being outdoors working in his garden or riding his John Deere Tractor, but most of all, he loved spending time with his family.  Following 45 years, Eugene retired from Drexel Heritage.

 

He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Maude Williams Crisp; four children, Sandra Lowery, Ronald Crisp, Stephan Crisp (Megan) and Summer Crisp; four brothers, J.P Crisp, Glenn Crisp, Lewis Crisp and Lester Crisp.  He is also survived by three grandchildren, Mrs. Tracy Lowery, Mrs. Ashley Crisp and Mr. Joseph Lowery; three great grandchildren, Christian Lowery, Gage Wallace and Lily Lowery; and one great-great grandson, Mr. Avery Crisp. 

 

A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 8, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service with Rev. Millard Kiser officiating.  Interment will follow at Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home.
