Ethel Louise Smith Bolick, 95, of Marion, went Home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at the Solace Center in Asheville.
Ethel was born in Yancey County, NC, on October 27, 1929, to the late Angela Black Smith and Lonnie Smith. She was married to her husband of 61 years, Gold Horace Bolick, who passed away in 2007. Ethel worked at Baxter Healthcare, with whom she retired after many years of dedicated service. She was a faithful member of Bethel Free Will Baptist Church. She enjoyed going on senior outings with the Church and dedicated her life to taking care of her family. Ethel was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
In addition to her husband and parents, Ethel was preceded in death by all nine of her siblings; and a great grandson, Jonathan Brown.
Those left to cherish her memory include four children, Tommy Bolick (Pat), Roger Bolick (Rita), Dean Bolick (Janette), and Janet Robinson (Randy); seven grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 21, 2025, at the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service. Rev. Larry Anderson will officiate. Burial will follow at McDowell Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of Mountain Ridge Health & Rehabilitation and the Care Partners Solace Center for the care they provided. Memorial contributions may be submitted in Ethel’s honor to Bethel Free Will Baptist Church, 1690 Old Hwy 10 E, Marion, NC 28752.
