Emma Parker

Marion, North Carolina

Emma Arrowood Parker, passed away on Wednesday, August 04, 2021, at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills. She was born to the late Robert and Ethel Conner Arrowood, on October 18, 1933 in Rutherford County, North Carolina.

Emma loved to cook and bake especially for others in need. She was a loving mother, sister and mawmaw. She was the oldest member of Nealsville Church of God, she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Carl Grogan Parker; a daughter, Marilyn Parker; one grandson Tyler Parker Pressley; three sisters, Mafo Laughter, Doris Alley, and Maxine Holbrook and three brothers; Roland Arrowood, Bill Arrowood and Reid Arrowood.

Left to cherish her memory are her two children, Gary Parker (Teresa) and Gail Parker Pressley (Jeff); four grandchildren; Kristin Parker, Kayla Parker, Andrew Pressley (Jordan) and Madison Pressley; two great- grandchildren; Hudson Pressley and Huntleigh Pressley, a brother-in-law, Junior Alley and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, August 8, 2021 at the Nealsville Church of God at 3:00 p.m. with the Reverends Doug Carpenter, Travis Cooke and Timothy Macon officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30-3:00 prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow at the Nealsville Church of God Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a memorial donation in Emma’s memory are asked to consider St. Jude Childrens Hospital, Nealsville Church of God or Gideons International.
