Emma June Testerman Goforth

Emma June Testerman Goforth, 89, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at Blue Ridge Regional Hospital in Spruce Pine.

She was born in Washington County Virginia on June 14, 1933 to the late Luther and Virginia Thomas Testerman.

Emma June retired from Baxter Healthcare. She enjoyed collecting recipes and cooking for her family and friends, especially around the holidays. She will be remembered for her delicious candy, cakes, and pies. She was an independent and strong-willed lady. When she was able, she liked getting out and going for rides. Above all, she loved her family and children of all ages.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Linton Goforth; two daughters, Kathy Cox and Penny Gross; and several siblings.

She is survived by two children, James Goforth and Linda Sue Goforth; sons-in-law, Mike Cox and Jeff Gross; one brother, Gaither Testerman; ten grandchildren; and seventeen great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 3, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service with Pastor Gary Greene officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. Burial will be private at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery.
