Elwanda Isaacs Finley, age 91, of Nebo, North Carolina went to be with her Savior and her sweetheart valentine Paul on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at Autumn Care of Marion with her loving family by her side. A native of Shell Creek, Tennessee, Elwanda was born on April 29, 1926 to the late Coy and Eva Turbyfill Isaacs.
Elwanda was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church for over sixty-five years where she served as a former children’s class teacher, Bible school teacher and church secretary for many years. She loved to crochet and cook. Elwanda enjoyed spending time with her family and will be greatly missed.
She is preceded in death by her husband who passed away September 5, 2007, Paul Lester Finley.
Left behind to cherish her memories are two daughters, Diane Kell (Benny) and Wanda Loftis (Doug); four grandchildren, Michael Kell (Dawn), Randy Kell (Leah), Rebecca Creech (Brian) and Justin Loftis (Chris). Also surviving Mrs. Finley are nine great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 18, 2018 at the First Free Will Baptist Church. A funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the church with Reverends Jack Ward and Justin Deaton officiating. Burial will follow the service at Fairview Free Will Baptist Church.
The family of Mrs. Finley would like to express their thanks to neighbors Brenda and Robert Wilson, Care Partners of McDowell and Autumn Care nurses on 100 hall.
