Elizabeth Anderson Loftis, age 73, of Marion, North Carolina, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 28, 2018 while surrounded by her loved ones at her residence. The daughter of the late John and Carrie Ray Anderson, she was born in McDowell County, North Carolina on April 12, 1945.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Johnny Anderson; and four sisters, Gin Andrews, Charlotte Smith, Glenys Styles and Dorothy Elliott.
A devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother, Elizabeth grew up in the Clinchfield Community where she was a member of Clinchfield Presbyterian Church, but most recently was a member of Garden Creek Baptist Church. She loved to spend time with her family and traveling to the beach.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Kenneth Loftis of the home; one daughter, Robin Whisenant and her husband, Rodney of Morganton; five grandsons, Mitchell Carr, Matthew Carr, Colby Carr, Isaac Whisenant and Jacob Whisenant; and two great granddaughters, Margaret Carr and Ann Marie Craig.
A service to celebrate the life of Elizabeth will be held on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home.
A private inurnment will be held at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain.
