Edward Ryder “Brother Eddie”, age 55, of Marion, passed away on Monday, March 13, 2017 at the McDowell Hospital. A native of Colorado Springs, Colorado, born November 12, 1961, he was the son of the late Claude and Thelma Ryder.
A good-hearted man who would give you the shirt off his back, Eddie loved to go fishing and camping. He enjoyed antique cars, especially his 1974 Volkswagen Beetle named Herbie. Eddie loved his church and church family at Going Home Free Will Baptist Church.
He is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Kelly Ryder; four siblings, Walter Ryder, Donna Thayer, Barbara McCombe and Phillip Hardcastle; mother-in-law, Joyce Loftin; brother-in-law, John “Boo” Loftin; and his loving animals, Nicky, Baby Girl and Baby Pooh.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, March 16, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. at Going Home Free Will Baptist Church in Marion with Rev. Jeff Duncan officiating. Interment will follow at Murphy’s Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the church.
