Edward Maurice Price

Edward Maurice “Reece” Price, 81, of Denver, NC, formerly of Marion, passed away Thursday, July 7, 2022, at Atrium Health in Lincolnton.

     Reece was born in McDowell County, NC on October 28, 1940, to the late Albin Price and Edna Gallion Price. He was married to his wife of fifteen years, Virginia L. Price. He served his country proudly in the United States Army and was a member of Yancey Street Baptist Church in Marion. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish. Reece never knew a stranger and enjoyed spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed.

     In addition to his parents, Reece was preceded in death by a brother, Leonard Price; and three sisters, Betty White, Joann Suttles, and Billie Crump.

     Survivors include his wife, Virginia Price of Denver; a son, Scott Price (Melissa) of Marion; two step sons, Glenn S. Huffman (Vivian) of Clemmons, NC and Mark A. Huffman (Melanie) of Delta Junction, Alaska; a sister, Patricia Warren (Freddie) of Marion; a sister in law, Phillis McGalliard (Charles); a brother in law, David R. Neely; four grandchildren, Bradley Price, Randy Price, Brandy Burroughs (Jason), and Hayden Price; seven step grandchildren, Dalton Huffman, Danna Huffman, Kim Huffman, Kylee Huffman, Morigan Huffman, and Angelina & Kim; two great grandchildren, Sawyer Burroughs and Rowan Price; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved fur baby, Coco.

     A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, July 14, 2022, at the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service in Marion. Rev. Dean Owenby will officiate.
