Edward Eugene Morgan

Edward Eugene Morgan, 81, of Glenwood, passed away Monday, December 18, 2023 at Mission Hospital in Asheville.

He was born in Rutherfordton on January 14, 1942 to the late Robert Junior Morgan and Pauline Laughter Morgan. He was also preceded in death by two children, Scott Morgan and Diane Morgan Frye.

Mr. Morgan was employed for over 35 years at Marion Manufacturing. He was a member of Nealsville Church of God where he had served as an elder. A loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother, he was fiercely devoted to his family. He enjoyed being in the outdoors whether it was working in his garden or cutting wood. He also enjoyed rabbit hunting in years past. He was an avid fan of professional football, and he was known to enjoy sharing laughs with others by aggravating them. He will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

 He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Brenda Crawley Morgan; four sons, David Morgan, Mark Morgan (Kim), Steven Morgan (Lisa), and Mike Morgan (Myra); ten grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and one sister, Linda Pittman (Eugene).

A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 22, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service with Rev. Doug Carpenter and Rev. Timothy Macon officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
