Edward Howard Eller, Jr., 74, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away Thursday, January 13, 2022 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospital.
He was born in McDowell County on September 30, 1947 to the late Edward Howard Eller, Sr. and Rena Mae Young Eller.
Edward retired from Collins & Aikman in engineering and design. He honorably served in the U.S. Army and was a bronze star recipient. He loved to watch sports of all kinds. Edward was a charter member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church where he was very active. Over the years, he served as the church treasurer and as a choir member.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Norma Jean Causby Eller; and a sister-in-law, Doris Causby McCurry.
He is survived by his daughter, Nicole Biggs; his sister, Millie Brittain (Jerry); a niece, Jennifer Young (Michael); a brother-in-law, Jack Ronald “Boo” Causby; and special friends of many years, Scott and Denise Cable.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church with Rev. Kim Clardy officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at McDowell Memorial Park.
