Edna Mae Williams Duncan

Edna Mae Williams Duncan, 83, of Nebo, North Carolina, passed away Sunday, September 11, 2022 at her home.

A native of McDowell County, Edna was born on October 25, 1938 to the late Clarence Alexander George Williams and Cora Belle Johnson Williams.

Edna retired from Baxter Healthcare after over 20 years of service. She attended Redeemed Free Will Baptist Church and truly loved her church family. She loved the Lord and filled her time with Christian activities and television programs. She enjoyed singing when she was able and living in the beauty of the mountains.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Henry Duncan; daughter, Tammie Duncan Bright (Donald); and her siblings, Buster, George, Addie, Donald, Pearl, and Clyde.

She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Sue Nolte (Donald Bates); four grandchildren, Mark Nolte, Christy Nolte, Elizabeth Nolte Gardin (Adam), and James Nolte III (Jill); six great grandchildren, Hunter Gardin, Remi Nolte, Aerie Nolte, Jaylynn Nolte, Kena Twitty, and Serenity Williams; her special friend, Reba Holmes; and her cat who she dearly loved, Luna.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service with Pastor Jerry McClain officiating. Burial will follow at McDowell Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m.
