Edith Delores Finley Elliott, 84, entered into Heaven, Wednesday, January, 19, 2022.
Edith was born in Mcdowell County on April 29, 1937 to the late Robert Sid Finley and the late Hessie Hollifield Finley. She was a lifelong member of First Freewill Baptist Church where she served in many capacities such as pianist and organist. Edith loved crafting such as cross stitching where she won numerous awards through the senior center. She enjoyed traveling with her family and friends. Edith was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of sixty six years, Herman Virgil Elliott; two daughters, Trish Mingle (Barry) and Debbie Elliott; a sister Inez Kirkpatrick (Eddie); four grandchildren, Drew Price (Chelsea), Caleb Mingle (Paige), Aaron Vallini (D’Jan) and Anthony Vallini (Jordan) and nine great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 24, 2022 at the First Free Will Baptist Church in Marion with the Rev. Brian Bird and the Rev. Eddie Kirkpatrick officiating. Interment will follow at McDowell Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the church.
