Edith "Edie" Mae Scott Isbell

Edith “Edie” Mae Scott Isbell, 76, of Nebo, North Carolina, passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at her residence.

She was born in McDowell County on December 23, 1946 to the late Lorene Scott.

Edie was a member of St. Mark Church of God in Christ. She loved going to church and singing. Giving and doing for others brought her the most joy. Edie will be remembered for her sweet and caring personality. She enjoyed writing and coloring. Her family, especially her grandchildren, always came first in her life.

In addition to her mother, she is preceded in death by husbands, Theodore Harrison Isbell and James Arthur Reeves; son, Teddy Isbell; and brother, Joseph Alvin Scott.

She is survived by three children, Victoria Lindsey (Willie), Troy Isbell (Danielle), and Chad Isbell (Samantha Bradford); daughter-in-law, Annette Isbell; sister, Paula Scott; brother, Paul Scott; 19 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 24, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service. Burial will follow at St. John AME Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m.
