Edith Duncan Allison

Edith Duncan Allison, 83, of Marion and formerly of Old Fort, passed away peacefully surrounded by her three girls on Thursday, July 6, 2023.

She was born in Marion on March 14, 1940 to the late Jasper and Docia Webb Duncan. She is also preceded in death by the love of her life, Joseph Henry Allison.

Edith’s faith and her family were the most important things in her life. She was a longtime member of Greenlee Baptist Church where she served as the secretary for a number of years. Edith was a hard worker and was faithful in each job she had. She will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

She is survived by three daughters, Jeannie Ledford (Jeff), Jill Ward (Bobby), and Joanna Guy (Darrell); six grandchildren, Tyler Allison, Eli Ledford (Taylor), Jake Ward, Alex Guy, Will Ward, and Arianna Guy; two great grandchildren, Samuel Ledford and Raylan Ledford; five siblings, Max Duncan (Lora), Maxine Padgett, Robert Duncan, Gail Huskins, and Hope Thomas; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 9, 2023 from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at Beam Funeral Service. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Jonathan Tipper officiating and Tyler Allison assisting. Burial will be private at McDowell Memorial Park.
