On October 3, 2022, Edith Lourine Pressley Crisp, age 101, of Marion, North Carolina, was welcomed into the arms of her Lord and Savior. Edith was born on April 22, 1921 in Asheville, North Carolina to the late William and Georgia Pressley.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Crisp; sons-in-law, Irland Randall and Bill Rumberg; great grandson, David Parker; sisters, Catherine McDowell and Hazel Bloodworth; and brothers, Bill, Bob, Dillard, and Clarence Pressley.
Edith was a longtime member of Zion Hill Baptist Church where over the years she served in many positions. One of which was teaching Sunday School. Edith retired from Collins and Aikman and enjoyed camping, quilting, and crafts.
She is survived by her daughters, Pauline Randall and Wilma Rumberg; grandchildren, Greg Randall (Josette), Regina Davis, Lisa Parker (Randy), Jeff Rumberg (Teresa), and Michael Randall (Jacobi); great grandchildren, Drew Parker (Bethany), Josh Davis, Katie Stover (Jacob), Austin Rumberg (Zoe), Prue Randall, Zak Kuhn, and Gracin Randall; great-great grandchildren, Emma, Jackson, Samuel, and Lucy Parker and Will and Rylie Stover; and several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the many friends and family for all of their help in assisting Edith and her family.
Edith will lie in state on Saturday, October 08, 2022 from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at Zion Hill Baptist Church. During this time, please respect social distancing due to COVID concerns. A celebration of Edith’s life will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Dr. Tom Walker and Mr. Paul Baker officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
