In Loving Memory of Eddie Joe Cable Age 65 – Marion, NC Eddie Joe Cable, 65, of Marion, passed away peacefully with his family by his side at Mission Hospital in Marion. Eddie was the son of the late Wince Henry Cable and Maggie Laws Cable. He fought a courageous ten-year battle with cancer and COPD, showing remarkable strength and resilience throughout. Eddie's loving wife, Virginia (Ginny) Cable, stood faithfully by his side, embodying the true meaning of love and devotion. Together, they built a life full of cherished memories and unconditional love. His four children survive Eddie: Samantha Cable Watkins (Cody), Virginia Shandell Davis (Marc), Sabrina Diane Cable, and Jamie Lee Hudgins (Jessie). He was a proud and devoted grandfather to eight grandchildren: Domenica (Demi), Maverick (Mav) (children of Samantha), Grayson (child of Shandell), Dylan, Kaitlin, Raylynn (children of Sabrina), Kaitlin and Dallas (children of Jamie). Eddie was the youngest of 12 siblings and is lovingly remembered by his brothers and sisters. He was preceded in death by James, Ken (Berniece), Everett (Geneva), Gerald (Helga), Shirley (Alan), and Danny (Glenda), and survived by Donald (Faye), Mary (Bill), Ila (Jerry), Wilma (Ronnie), and Marleen along with numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. A kind-hearted man who loved the Lord with all his heart, Eddie had a contagious laugh and carried a positive spirit that brightened the lives of everyone around him. His faith, humor, and unwavering love for his family will always be remembered and celebrated by those who had the privilege of knowing him. If you knew Eddie, you knew his love for potatoes—he had to have them with every meal. He didn’t know a stranger and was certainly a talker, always bringing joy to conversations. Eddie's legacy of love, faith, and laughter will forever live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
