Earnestine Ellen Bolick Clay, age 70, of Marion, North Carolina, went home to rest in the arms of her Lord and Savior on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at her residence with her loving family by her side. The daughter of the late Cartha B. Martin, Earnestine was born on March 29, 1946 in Yancey County, North Carolina.
Earnestine, for many years, proudly served as a caregiver for residents at Rocky Pass Family Care Home. In her spare time she enjoyed cooking and crocheting, but most of all, she loved being with her family. In addition to her mother, she is preceded in death by step-father, Isaac Martin; and one brother, Michael Waycaster.
She is survived by her husband, David B. Clay; four children, Sherry Reese and husband Lee, Tina Lackey and husband John, Jerry Williams and wife Jessica; and Mia Lowery; three siblings, Joann Rabb, Wade Waycaster and wife Faye; and Gail Carter; eight grandchildren, Jason, Jeremy, Jesse, Renney, Phoebe, Daniel, Jessie and Austin; and four great grandchildren, Allie, Xavier, Teresa and Xander. Earnestine is also survived by her special girls at Rocky Pass Family Care Home; and good friend, Boyce Westmoreland.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at Oak Grove Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. with Mr. Dickie Jarrett officiating.
