Earnest Douglas Perry

November 15, 1952 — March 8, 2025

Old Fort

Earnest Douglas Perry, 72, of Old Fort, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at his residence.

A native of Yazoo City, Mississippi, Earnest was born November 15, 1952 to the late Ernest Perry and Rosa Wigley Perry Cook.

He was a devoted service technician for Durkopp Adler America for 41 years, during which time his commitment to his work took him across the globe. Earnest's career led to lasting friendships with colleagues and clients alike. Throughout his life, Earnest was a wonderful provider for his family, dedicating himself to ensuring their well-being and comfort. He often sacrificed his own needs and desires in order to fulfill this role, embodying a spirit of selflessness that will be deeply missed by those who knew him.

Known for his infectious sense of humor, Earnest had a gift for making others laugh and smile, leaving a mark of joy on the hearts of everyone he encountered. He was helpful and giving, often going out of his way to lend a hand or offer support to others. In his free time, Earnest cherished the moments spent deer hunting, especially with family. These outings were not merely hobbies, but an opportunity to create lifelong memories with loved ones.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Camie Harrison and Lucy Davis.

He is survived by his wife, Janet Turner Perry; three children, Adam Perry (Jessica) of Old Fort, Brenda Rector (Tommy) of Brandon, Mississippi, and Justin Perry of Brandon, Mississippi; six grandchildren, Kinley Perry, Matthew Rector, Andrew Rector, Breanna Goodwin, Austin Perry, and Caitlyn Perry; one sister, Linda Pugh; and several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
