Doris Hunter White, age 78, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away Monday, January 22, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving children. Mrs. White was born August 28, 1939 in McDowell County, North Carolina to the late Grover Cleveland Hunter and Annie Lou Smith Hunter.
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Frank Michael White, who passed away in 2003; two sisters, Pearl Lail and Elizabeth Buff; and three brothers, Grover Hunter, Donald Hunter and Frank Cannon.
Doris, who loved life, enjoyed working, and was known to stay busy up until her health began to decline. She would always say, “we earn it, we don’t get it”. Doris loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Left behind to cherish her memories are three children, Frank Michael White, Jr. and his wife, Jacie, Tami Lee White and Bobby Ray White; one sister, Edna Buchanan; four grandchildren, Trey White, III and his wife, Jennifer, Will White and his wife, Erin, Jessica Winebarger and Justin Winebarger; and five great-grandchildren, Ally White, Michael White, Luna Dyson, Loki Dyson and Grant White.
There will be a gathering of family and friends on Saturday, January 27, 2018 between 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service in Marion.
