Doris Potter

Doris Creson Potter, age 79, of Greer, SC formerly of Marion, NC passed away Thursday, March 15, 2018 at her son’s home.

Mrs. Potter was born March 3, 1939 in McDowell County, NC to the late John Walter Creson and Martha Elizabeth Hunter Creson.  She was a longtime member of Greenlee Baptist Church.  She was very talented with crafts especially quilting and sewing.  Her family lovingly remembers her for her friendliness, being a homebody and her care for her family.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Cecil Denver Potter on March 1, 2013 and seven siblings.

Left behind to cherish Mrs. Potter’s memories are her son, Brian Potter of Greer, SC; two sisters, Cartha Hill and Jean Holloway both of Marion, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM on Monday, March 19, 2018 at Beam Funeral Service & Crematory.  A Funeral Service will follow at 3:00 PM at the funeral home with Rev. Coy Jeans officiating.  Burial will be at McDowell Memorial Park.
