Doris Ann Cochran

Doris Ann McCoy Cochran, age 64, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 16, 2020 at the Hospice of the Carolina Foothills-Inpatient Unit in Forest City.  Born in McDowell County on December 29, 1955, she was the only child of the late Grady Lee and Annie Gardin McCoy. 

Doris was a graduate of Nebo High School, and was retired from employment with the State of North Carolina.  She will be remembered for her excellent cooking and her love of people and animals.  She was constantly helping others in any way she could.  Doris loved the outdoors, gardening, cooking, and spending time with those she loved.  Her independent spirit, outspoken manner, and her kind heart will be forever in the minds of those who knew her.  She was attending Bethel Baptist Church. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Warren E. Cochran, Sr. who passed away July 04, 2019.

Left to cherish her memory are one son, Kevin Lail of Taylorsville; one grandson, Dylan Rode of the home; two aunts, Jean Carter of Bostic, North Carolina and Flora Gardin of Marion; several cousins; along with a host of friends, including special friends, William Rich and Anne and Ronnie Swann; and last but not least, her two loving canine companions, Sandy and Angel. 

Due to impending inclement weather scheduled for today, Thursday, February 20, 2020, the celebration of service time for Mrs. Doris Ann McCoy Cochran has been rescheduled. Instead of 3:00 p.m., it has been pushed back to 1:00 p.m. today in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service with Rev. Jimmy Upton officiating.
