Donna Kinehan McKinney

April 10, 1943 — July 16, 2023

Nebo

Donna Kinehan McKinney, 80, of Nebo, passed away Sunday, July 16, 2023 at her home with her loving family by her side.

A native of Ohio, Donna was born April 10, 1943 to her late parents Vincent Kinehan and Anne Hrabley Kinehan. Donna is preceded in death by her father, mother, sister (Maureen Dunlap), brother-in-law (Gary Dunlap), niece (Rachel Kinehan), nephew (Hayden Whitfield), great-nephew (Dillon Morgan), and son-in-law (Kyle Ledbetter).

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister, and sister-in-law, who will be greatly missed. We know she is rejoicing in the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ, whom she loved wholeheartedly.

Donna enjoyed reading the Bible, being a prayer warrior, and sharing the Word of God with anyone who was around her. She loved word searches, working in her flower garden, and crocheting her beloved afghans. Her father was in the military while she was growing up and Donna enjoyed sharing stories with her family of the many places she lived including Germany, Japan, Hawaii, Washington, Massachusetts, Georgia, and several more. While in Georgia, she met the love of her life, Harold. After marrying Harold, they made their home in North Carolina. They were blessed to have spent sixty wonderful years of marriage together.

She is survived by her husband, Harold McKinney; three children, Maria Ledbetter (Tommy), Michael McKinney (Janice), and Maureen Tipton (Donnie); siblings, Gloria Walker (Steve), William Vincent “Bill” Kinehan (Linda Belan), Kathleen “Cootie” Morgan (David), Francis Kinehan (Mary Souder), and Ronnie Kinehan (Pam); nine grandchildren, Nathaniel Ledbetter, Joshua Ledbetter, Jimmy Huskins (Chelsea), Megan Huskins (Melvin), Kaitlyn McKinney (Jordan), Daniel McKinney, Jacob McKinney, Brianna Blake (Daniel), Matthew Tipton; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a number of “Grandma Donna’s Grandchildren” - Colbry, Farmer, Kamiryn, Aamiyah, Kora, Ameliah, Olivia, Jack, Lyla, Zayden, Brylie, Charlotte, and William.

The family would like to say a special thank you to Home Health, Hospice, and the many others who helped care for Donna and her family during this difficult time. Thank you to those who traveled to visit, brought meals, sent cards, called, and most importantly prayed. The out pouring of love and kindness has been greatly appreciated.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 from 4:00 until 5:00 p.m. at Cane Creek Baptist Church in Union Mills. The funeral service will follow at 5:00 p.m. with Pastor Danny Camp, Jr. officiating. Mr. Stacy Buff will assist. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
