“To describe my mother would be to write about a hurricane in its perfect power. Or the climbing, falling colors of a rainbow.” -  Maya Angelou

Our mom found her happiness in the simple things. She was a strong woman who had a spirit of perseverance. She was beautiful, stubborn, funny, generous, kind, humble, wise, nurturing, calming, genuine, accepting, selfless, resourceful, empathetic, and rare. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to have known her.

“In my life I love you more.” -The Beatles

Donna was preceded in death by her unborn child (February 22, 1985,) and her beloved chihuahua, Coby, whom she lovingly referred to as “her only son.” (January 28, 2023.)

Donna is survived by her husband, James D. Harris; daughters Amber A. Silvers and Stephanie L. Williams; a brother, J. Dennis Dees; and two sisters, Patricia Dees Wood and Debra A. Dees.

For those wishing to honor her memory, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, whose mission she was passionate about.

A private ceremony will be held at a later date.
