Donald A. Smith

Donald Alfred Smith, age 84, of Marion, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 20, 2016 at his home with his loving family by his side.  Born on October 28, 1931 in Queens, New York Donald was the son of the late Kime and Gertrude Seamans Smith. He was a member of the Zion Hill Baptist Church, and a veteran of the New Jersey National Guard. Don was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was blessed with the kindness and support of close friends, neighbors, and relatives.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Betty R. Smith; four children Linda Traylor, daughter and husband Craig, Debbie Buckner, daughter and husband Harry, Donald Smith Jr., son and wife Donna, Ronda Navarette, daughter and husband John; eleven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren also survive.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, March 24, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Zion Hill Baptist Church with the Reverends Dr. Tom Walker and Ross Lewis officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from noon till 1:00 p.m. one hour prior to the service, at the church.
