Donald "Duck" Silver

Donald “Duck” Silver, age 66, of Spruce Pine, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 21, 2017 at Blue Ridge Regional Hospital in Spruce Pine with his family by his side.  A native of Buncombe County, North Carolina, born June 25, 1950, he was the son of the late Carl and Ruth Lane Silver.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Ann Silver; and one brother, Tony Silver.

A member of the Mitchell County Astronomy Club, Donald will be missed by many.  We will forever think of you when we look to the stars.  You passed that great love of astronomy on to many others and your spirit will forever shine bright in our hearts.

He is survived by his loving wife, Judy Elliott; four children, Michael Silver, Joey Silver, Angie McKinney and Samantha Westberry; two step-sons, Joey Elliott and Jeremy Elliott; two brothers, Ronnie Silver and Jackie Silver; and one sister, Linda Silver.  Donald is also survived by ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
