Don Clair Cable

Don Clair Cable, 79, of Marion, passed away at Memorial Mission in Asheville on Wednesday, June 19, 2024.

He was born in McDowell County on January 22, 1945 to the late Charlie Alexander Cable and Flora Belle Mitchell Cable. He was also preceded in death by his twelve siblings.

Don attended and was a member of Turkey Cove Baptist Church. He retired from Great Lakes Carbon Plant in Morganton. He enjoyed being outside, especially taking walks through the woods with his dog. In his spare time, Don loved whittling and playing his guitar. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Surviving Don are his wife of sixty years, Mary Lou Radford Cable; his two children, Gregory Bryan Cable (Sandi) and Shannon Michele Cable, along with a large number nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Turkey Cove Baptist Church on Sunday, June 23, 2024 from 2:00 until 3:00. A funeral service to follow receiving of friends at 3:00 pm. at the church. Burial will take place at the Turkey Cove Baptist Church Cemetery.
