Dixie Lee Branton

Dixie Lee Reece Branton, age 90, went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 20, 2023 at her residence. She was born in Lee County Iowa on February 20, 1932 the daughter of the late Louis Reece and Nettie Bowers Reece.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Marvin Edward Branton; two sons, Marty Branton and Tommy Branton; siblings, Louis “Bud” Reece, Jr., Bill Reece, Robert Reece, Clarence Creason, and Donald Reece; grandsons, Brad Branton and Todd Branton.

Mrs. Branton loved reading, working with flowers, going to church, but mostly spending time with her family and friends. She attended Grace Baptist Church in Morganton, NC.

Those left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Ginger Queen (Skipper) and Jeannie Freeman (Donald); eight grandchildren, Kimberly Hipps (Bobby), Annette Byrd, Jamie Robinson, Jimmy Queen (Melody), Joe Bob Branton, Chad Freeman, Danielle Widener (BR) and Brandy Freeman; twenty two great grandchildren, ten great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 23, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service with grandson Jimmy Queen and Pastor Marty Bess officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at the Muddy Creek Cemetery.
