Dianna Mae Durkee Sisk

May 6, 1948 — November 17, 2024

Marion

Dianna Mae Durkee Sisk, 76, of Marion, passed away Sunday evening, November 17, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

A native of McDowell County, she was born May 6, 1948 to the late Barney Durkee and Bessie Duncan Setzer. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles Sisk; and one brother, Michael Durkee.

Dianna dedicated her life to caring for others, serving as an in-home caregiver where her compassion and dedication touched countless lives. Throughout her years, Dianna cultivated a love for nature and beauty, evident in her cherished flower garden. Her green thumb was matched only by her passion for collecting baby dolls, each one holding a special place in her heart. Dianna delighted in trips to the beach, where she would often spend her days fishing, creating lasting memories with friends and family. Some of her favorite moments were spent volunteering as a campground hostess on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Most of all, she loved the Lord and was a member of Sugar Hill Baptist Church.

She is survived by three children, Donna Elliott (Roger), Melissa Sigmon (Dennis), and Charles Keith Sisk (Jennifer); five grandchildren, Amanda Sigmon, Christopher Freeman (Suzanne), Jennifer Sigmon, Justin Elliott, and Cainnan Long (Destiny); two great-grandchildren, Miranda Ledford and Matthew Freeman; two siblings, Johnny Revis and Brenda Benge; a number of nieces and nephews; and her special fur baby, Lily.

The family will receive friends on Friday, November 22, 2024 from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service. The funeral service will begin at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Michael Robinson officiating. Burial will follow at Sugar Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
