Diane Nichols

Diane Rockett Nichols, age 81, of Old Fort, North Carolina, passed away on Thursday, January 02, 2020 at her residence while under the care of CarePartners Hospice & Palliative Care-McDowell.  A lifelong resident of Old Fort, she was born on September 20, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Harvey and Claire Griffin Rockett. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby James Nichols. 

Always putting others before herself, Diane’s family was near and dear to her heart. She loved to babysit her grandkids, enjoyed traveling with her family and cooking.  Diane was a member of First Baptist Church of Old Fort. 

Left to cherish her precious memories are her three children, Jerry Nichols (Lorie), Lynn Lewis (Toney) and Greg Nichols (Nickie); nine grandchildren, Hannah, Lauren, Austin, Wesley, Justin, Erin, Colin, Cole and Rhyne; and eleven great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Monday, January 06, 2020 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service in Marion.  A service to celebrate Diane’s life will follow at 2:00 p.m.
