Shortly after 12:00 P.M. on Wednesday, February 27, 2019, Albert Ammon Aldridge, age 68, of Morganton, North Carolina, departed to be with the Lord at St. Joseph Campus of Mission Hospital in Asheville. A native of Avery County, North Carolina, Albert was born on September 7, 1950 and was the son of Frances Brandon Aldridge of Nebo; and the late Owen Aldridge.
A devoted son and brother, Albert proudly cared for his mother daily. In his younger days, he enjoyed going hunting and fishing. Following more than 30 years of service, Albert retired from Morganton Department of Public Safety where he had served as a Detective.
Left to cherish his memories, in addition to his mother, two sisters, Linda A. Fincher and Libby Gallion (Terry); nieces, Sandy Meyer (Tracey) and Rebecca Wise (Forrest); and nephews, Todd Fincher (Jennifer) and Jacob Gallion, all of which he dearly loved and was extremely proud of. He was also survived by ten great nieces and nephews.
A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Aldridge will be held on Sunday, March 3, 2019 at 2:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service with Mr. Todd Fincher officiating. Honors will be provided by the Morganton Department of Public Safety. The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a memorial donation in Mr. Aldridge’s memory are asked to consider, Nebo Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 425, Nebo, North Carolina 28761.
