Dennis “Mickey” Seagle, loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center in Asheville, at the age of 75. He was surrounded by his loved ones at the time of his passing. Born in McDowell County, North Carolina on August 27, 1942, he was the son of the late Woodrow and Joyce Barrier Seagle.
An entrepreneur and motivational speaker, Mickey was a representative for Universal Technical Institute (UTI) in Houston, Texas and became the 2nd largest stockholder in the company. Prior to his retirement, he had successfully become the sales director for the state of Texas. Mickey was not only a classy man, but was helpful and was known to give to those in need.
Having extreme powers of concentration, in 1999 he won 2nd place in the World of Series of Poker, which he enjoyed playing in his spare time. At an early age he had received his 7-year pin for perfect attendance while attending Clinchfield Baptist Church in Marion.
Left to cherish his memories, the love of his life, Tracy and their three children, Dennis “Mike” Seagle, Jr., Terri Seagle Dugas and Chris Seagle; two sisters, Brenda Davis and Joan McCraw; two granddaughters, Nikki Dugas Arnold (Mathew); and Melissa Dugas Goodhue (Sam); and three great grandchildren, Juniper Arnold, Jasper Arnold and Jovi John Arnold.
A celebration of Mickey’s life will be held on Sunday, January 14, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at New Horizon Baptist Fellowship in Marion with Rev. Phil Murdock officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the church.
