Dennis Hopson

Dennis Howard “Dean” Hopson, age 67, of Marion, NC passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at his home.

Mr. Hopson was born May 2, 1950 in Buncombe County, NC to the late Burgin Edward Hopson and Kathleen Virginia Roberts Hopson.  He retired from Perfect Air in Marion in 2017.  Dean loved his family and constantly doted on them.  He was a very gentle, loving man who never had a harsh word for anyone.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his daughter, Virginia Purcell.

Left behind to cherish his memories are his beloved wife of 49 years, Dorothy Hammond Hopson; his son, Dennis “Dean” Hopson; his daughter, Jamie Bryant and husband, Bud; four grandchildren, Jeffory, Caitlin, Allison and Gabby; four great-grandchildren, Dominick, Damian, Katarina and Rileigh; and seven siblings, David Hopson and wife, Alma, Patsy Hopson, Deborah Putnam, Thomas Hopson, Judy Hopkins and husband, Bill, William Hopson and Donald Hopson and wife, Shelly.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Beam Funeral Service & Crematory.
