Della Marie Hollifield Burleson

Della Marie Hollifield Burleson, 65, of Morganton, passed away Sunday, September 10, 2023 at Autumn Care of Drexel.

A native of McDowell County, she was born March 14, 1958 to the late Edgar Lee Hollifield and Rosa Lee Townsend Hollifield. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Edgar Lee Hollifield, Jr.

Della enjoyed going to yard sales and working crossword puzzles. She also liked to watch Lifetime movies. Her family brought her the most joy, and spending time with them did her heart good. She will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

She is survived by two sons, Roger Burleson and wife, Bridget and David Burleson and wife, Angela; four grandchildren, Luke Burleson, Tahara Burleson, Dallen Burleson, and Caleb Burleson; two great grandchildren, Reagan and Riley; five siblings, Ronald Lee Townsend, Roland Ray Townsend, Patricia Ann Hollifield, James Ray Hollifield, and Robert McGilbert Hollifield; special nieces, Glenda Hollifield and Danielle Tensley; and special nephews, Wesley Wilkie and Colby Crouch.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service with Pastor Travis Guffey officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m.
