Mr. David Franklin Newton, age 64, of Marion, passed away Saturday, August 3, 2024.

He was born in Baltimore MD on August 12, 1959, to the late David and Patricia Bielas Newton.

David spent most of his childhood and teenage years in Beaufort, SC. David’s family moved to Stedman, NC when he was a young man and resided there most of his life. David decided to serve his country and joined the Army. He was stationed at Fort Bragg and was assigned to the 82nd Airborne. Which he was extremely proud of! After leaving the Army David worked as a mechanic and tradesman. He enjoyed working with his hands and could build just about anything, including a two-story bar in the back yard which he named “Dusk til Dawn”. Where he would invite everyone over to play pool and have a good time. He loved everyone and loved to talk. He could talk to just about anyone who would listen. David always enjoyed watching NASCAR, fishing and just being outside. David also loved animals. He enjoyed feeding birds and always owned a dog or two. He loved his only daughter and granddaughters. He was extremely proud of them! He will be missed by all that knew him.

David was preceded in death by his parents David and Patricia Newton, Sister Betty Newton and Brother Clifford Newton.
