David L. McKinney

On the morning of Friday, May 15, 2020, while surrounded by his loved ones, Mr. David L. McKinney, age 64, of the Turkey Cove Community, passed away at his residence.  A native of McDowell County, North Carolina, born on July 15, 1955, he was the son of the late Russell Jack and Lennie Hollifield McKinney.

A loving and wonderful husband, father, grandfather and brother who loved his family, David is survived by his wife, Marilyn McKinney; his grandson who was his “sidekick”, Zachary David Richardson; one son, Joshua David McKinney; one daughter, Jennifer Jackson; one brother, Ronald McKinney; nephew, Chad McKinney and his wife, Rhonda; and two great nieces, Callie and Cassie McKinney.  Mr. McKinney is also survived by two step-sons, Travis Crowder and his wife, Brooke of Newland and Christopher Crowder and his wife, Tonya of Spruce Pine; and four granddaughters, Taylor, Addison and Olivia Crowder and Bella McKinney.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, May 17, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. at Turkey Cove Community Cemetery with Pastor Bruce Cannon and Pastor David Edwards officiating.
