David Mitchell Curtis Lunsford

David Mitchell Curtis Lunsford, 70, of Marion, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at Mission Hospital in Asheville.

He was born December 26, 1952 to the late Conley Lunsford and Irene Moss Lunsford. He is also preceded in death by the mother of his children, Brenda Gail Lunsford.

David was a hard worker his entire life. He retired as a supervisor from Quality Plastics. He loved working on riding lawn mowers, and he ran a small business doing so. More than anything, he loved his children and grandchildren and always put them first in his life. He was a humble and kind man who was always willing to help anyone in need. David also loved carp fishing and enjoying a cup of coffee. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.

He is survived by five children, Marilyn Lamb, Carolyn Godfrey (Tommy), David Lunsford, Jr. (Karen), Shelly Harmon (Kelly), and Tina Jones; eleven grandchildren, Justin Boone, Kasey Radford, Brenda Radford, Josh Wacaster (Lauren), Samantha Wacaster (Jonathan), Dalton Lunsford, Michelle Hutchins, Sierra Stratton, Dylan Lunsford, Grace Harmon, and Jayden Harmon; eight great grandchildren; six siblings, Joe Lunsford (Sharon), Kathy Towe (Jerry), Pat Rice, Barbara Lunsford, Kenneth Lunsford, and Wayne Lunsford; and a special buddy who was like a grandchild, Frankie Phillips.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m.
