David M. Hester, Sr.

Mr. David M. Hester, Sr., age 82, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at his residence on Friday, April 02, 2021 with his loved ones at his side.  A native of McDowell County, North Carolina, born on October 04, 1938, he was the son of the late Con and Mary Ellen Hoyle Hester. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Sarah Hester; one daughter, Annette Hester; two sisters, Thelma Morgan and Maude Lipscomb; and three brothers, Fred Hester, Robert Hester and Joe Hester. 

A member of Parkers Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Marion, David, who had a sense of humor, enjoyed traveling, but most of all, he loved going to church and serving the Lord.

He is survived by, his loving and devoted wife, Ada Haynes Hester; one son, David Hester, Jr. (Jessica); one daughter, Vanessa Hester; two grandchildren, Abbie Hester and Joel Robinette; one sister, Mary McPeters (Vernon); and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 05, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Parkers Chapel Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Victor Worley and Rev. Dean Owenby officiating.  Interment will follow at Trinity Hill Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the church.
