Mr. David Paul Farmer, age 61, of Old Fort, North Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at his daughters residence in Boiling Springs, North Carolina, following a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Louisa, Virginia on October 23, 1954, he was the son of the late Ruth Moore Knapp.
A loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, David was an avid motorcycle rider and enjoyed “piddling” with metal. A veteran of the United States Army, following many years of service, David retired from Charles George VA Medical Center in Asheville.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Donna Young Farmer; one daughter, Alysha Farmer; two sons, Michael Farmer and David Paul Farmer, Jr.; one sister, Elizabeth Bowden (John); one brother, Kelly W. Pierce, Jr.; and three grandchildren, Brookelynn, Shawn and Dorthy Farmer.
A celebration to honor the life of Mr. Farmer will be held Friday, March 18, 2016 at 5:00 p.m. at Greenlee Baptist Church in Old Fort with Rev. Carroll Page officiating. Military honors will be provided by the United States Army.
