Danya Jean Elliott

Danya Jean Ledbetter Elliott, age 57, of Marion, NC passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at Deer Park Rehabilitation & Care Center, surrounded by her loving family.

Danya was born August 19, 1960 to Daniel and Wilma Ray Ledbetter of the Montford Cove Community.  She retired from Baxter Healthcare after 35 years of service.  Danya enjoyed music, reading, Christmas, shopping, going to the beach and being on the go.  She loved to laugh and spend time with her friends and family. 

She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, James Garrett and Della Ray and her paternal grandparents, Roland and Monnie Ledbetter.

In addition to her parents, left behind to cherish her memories are her beloved junior high sweetheart and husband of 39 years, Marty Elliott; two children, Chad Elliott and fiancé, Kisha Johnson and Chasity Elliott all of Marion; five grandchildren, Dharma Elliott, Alyssa Allison, Colby Elliott, Brody Elliott and Chloe Allison; two great-grandchildren, Aubree Maple and Carson Murdock; her brother, Daryl Ledbetter and wife, Cindy of Marion; her sister, Verna Renee Woody of Marion; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at Beam Funeral Service & Crematory.  A Funeral Service will follow at 1:00 PM at the funeral home with Rev. Bruce Ward officiating.  Burial will follow the funeral service at McDowell Memorial Park.

The family would like to say “Thank You” to all those who helped take care of Danya for the special love and care shown to her and her family.  Special caregivers include:  Terri Grady, Dharma Elliott, Carolyn Evridge, Christi Johnson, Margaret Love, Gennise Jackson and the owners and employees of The Pizza Joint.
