Danny Gene Gunter

Mr. Danny G. Gunter, age 70, of the North Cove Community, passed away on the morning of Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at Blue Ridge Regional Hospital in Spruce Pine, North Carolina.  Born in Mitchell County, North Carolina on April 20, 1948, he was the son of Carol Lusk Gunter of Spruce Pine and the late Ray Gunter.  

He is preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Gunter.

Danny loved his horses and enjoyed bear hunting and fishing. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Along with his mother Carol, Danny is survived by his wife of twenty-nine years, Carolyn Cresawn Gunter; five children, Kelly Gunter, Jean Gunter Clark, David Gunter, Julie Crisp and Scott Smith; and three siblings, Marie Gardner, Richard Gunter (Carolyn) and Steve Gunter. Also surviving Danny are six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A funeral service to celebrate Danny’s life will take place on Friday, March 15, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Beam Funeral Service with Pastor Gary Greene officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at North Cove Baptist Church Cemetery.
