Danny Lee Grindstaff

Danny Lee Grindstaff, 75, of Marion, passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2024.

A native of Yancey County, he was born December 1, 1948 to the late Lonus Herman Grindstaff and Edna Leona Huskins Grindstaff. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Harold Grindstaff.

Danny was a faithful member of Remnant Free Will Baptist Church. His love for the Lord was evident as he served Him his whole life. He co-owned and operated Grindstaff and Son Grading. Danny could be described as a man of men, and he loved to work. When he was unable to work away from home, he could be found working in his garden or farming. He also loved to hunt and fish. His love for his family came second only to his love for the Lord. He enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter who he lovingly referred to as “Ab.” He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife, Gladys Stockton Grindstaff; his son, Travis Grindstaff (Tess); granddaughter, Abby Grindstaff; and his siblings, Jack Grindstaff (Judy), Wanda McKinney (Sherill), Judy Thomas (Danny), Jean Dobbins (Ron), and Doug Grindstaff.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 15, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service. Burial will follow at Remnant Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m.
