Danny Keith Gilbert

Danny Keith Gilbert, age 66, of Nebo, North Carolina, passed away at his residence on Thursday, May 21, 2020.  The son of the late O.C. and Agnes Ferguson Gilbert, a native of McDowell County, North Carolina he was born on October 05, 1953. 

He was preceded in death by, in addition to his parents, his wife, Diane Boylen Gilbert, who passed away in 2012; one son, Daniel Shawn Gilbert; one great grandson, Arian Welch; and one brother, Dennis Joe Gilbert.

A joyful person who had a big heart, Danny was a loving father, grandfather and brother.  In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing.

Danny will be missed by all who knew him.  He is survived by one daughter, Becky Proffitt; two sons, Jerry Swann (Jennifer) and Joseph Swann (Peggy); one sister, Gwen Lowery (Haskel); and two brothers, Randy Gilbert (Linda) and Jim Gilbert; eight grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In keeping with Mr. Gilbert’s wishes, no services are planned.
